What makes us the sons and daughters of God?

1. 1. Romans 2:29
   1. 1.1.“but he is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the Spirit, not in the letter; whose praise is not from men but from God.”
2. 2.1 John 3:1-3
   1. 2.1.“Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him. 2 Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. 3 And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.”

Chosen People of God

1. 1.God chose us first

   1. 2.1.“Just as He chose us in Him before the foundations of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will.”
3. 3.Deut 7:6-8 “For you are a holy people to the Lord your God the Lord your God has chosen you to be a people for Himself, a special treasure above all the poles on the face of the earth. the Lord did not set His love on you nor choose you because you were more in number than any other people, for you were the least of all peoples; but because the Lord loves you.”

   1. 5.1.“Or did god ever try to go and take for Himself a nation from the midst of another nation, by trials, by signs, by wonders, by war, by a mighty hand and an outstretched arm, and by great terrors, according to all that the Lord your God, did for you in Egypt before your eyes?’ ‘To you it was shown, that you might know that the Lord Himself is God there is none other besides Him.”

Keys to being chosen

1. 1.Believe in God
   1. 1.1.John 1:12 “But as many as received Him, to the m He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name”
2. 2.Have the Holy Spirit
   1. 2.1.Matt 12:18 / Isaiah 42:1-4 “Behold! My Servant whom I have chosen, My Beloved in whom My soul is well pleased! I will put My Spirit upon Him...”
   2. 2.2.Romans 8:16-17 “The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs - heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together”
   3. 2.3.Eph 1:13 “In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise.”
3. 3.Obey the word
   1. 3.1.1 Peter 2:8 “They stumble, being disobedient to the word, to which they also were appointed”
4. 4.To proclaim the Gospel
   1. 4.1.Acts 22:14 “The god of our fathers has chosen you that you should know His will, and see the Just One, and hear the voice of His mouth.”
   2. 4.2.1 Peter 2:9 “But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, his own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light”
5. 5.Purify the character
   1. 
      5.1.1 John 3:3 “And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.”
6. 6.To glorify God
   1. 6.1.1 Cor 1:26-28 “26 For you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called. 27 But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty; 28and the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are, 29 that no flesh should glory in His presence.

   1. 7.1.Revelation 17:14 “These will make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, for He is Lord of lords and King of kings; and those who are with Him are called, chosen, and faithful.”
   2. 7.2.Joshua 24:15 “Choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve”
